• For the people: Finding the founders' words, far from Washington (america.gov) — Plains residents can now take pride in a permanent “Charters of Freedom” display in President Jimmy Carter’s hometown, bringing bronze-etched replicas of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights close to home. The nonprofit behind the project is installing similar long-lasting monuments across the country, giving teachers, students, and veterans local access to America’s founding documents without traveling to Washington.
