2 Teens Charged In Shooting Of Roswell Teen

A 15-year-old person was identified as the gunman in the Wexford Hollow Run shooting.

ROSWELL, GA — Two teens are facing charges in connection with the March 3 shooting of another teen in the Wexford Subdivision, Roswell Police said Tuesday.

The shooting happened around 5 p.m. in the 500 block of Wexford Hollow Run, where a 17-year-old boy was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the face, Roswell Police said. The boy was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The three teens were in a basement, when a 15-year-old person is accused of illegally possessing a handgun and shooting the boy in the face, police said. A motive is unknown, but police said the shooting may have resulted from negligent misuse of a gun. There was no preceding dispute, police said.

The 15-year-old was taken to the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center and was charged on suspicion of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, tampering with evidence, obstruction and possession of marijuana less than an ounce, police said.

A 17-year-old person is accused of hiding the gun used in the shooting and is charged on suspicion of tampering with evidence, police said. The teen was taken to the Fulton County Jail.
