Here are the top stories today in Roswell:

  1. A man was arrested in Roswell after trying to gain entry to a woman’s home on Crabapple Park Drive. The incident was reported on February 15 when the homeowner called police to notify them that a man was harassing her and asking her to let him inside her home. The man also walked around her house and shone lights into the windows. The man was standing on the woman's roof when officers arrived and told law enforcement that he was “visiting someone.” Officers attempted to talk the man down safely, however, he jumped down from the approximately 8-foot high roof. The man was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and reckless conduct. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail. (appenmedia.com)
  2. John Driskell Hopkins, from the Zac Brown Band, created the Hop on a Cure Foundation to raise awareness about ALS and to find a cure. Driskell shared his ALS diagnosis about a year ago. He and his foundation hosted a benefit concert at Rock N' Taco in Roswell yesterday night. Various bands, singers, and songwriters from the Atlanta music scene donated their time to perform for this Hop on a Cure Benefit concert. All proceeds from this event will go to the foundation. 3. A 68-year-old former patient of the Roswell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center reported to police that she had received ill treatment from staff at the facility. The former patient told authorities that she was not given her prescription medication and that nurses would not acknowledge her other requests. The report also states that she felt “unsafe” with the employees at the nursing and rehab center, therefore she called emergency medical services. The former patient was transferred to Northside Forsyth Hospital. (appenmedia.com)
  4. More information was released regarding the SWAT standoff that occurred in Roswell last Friday afternoon. The shooting victim was identified as 51 year old Patrick Price. He was shot after intervening in an argument between his girlfriend and her 26-year-old son. The shooter, Stefan Mitchell, barricaded himself in an apartment with his mother and initially refused to surrender to police. He relented and turned himself in to authorities after 5:00 PM on Friday. He was booked into Fulton County Jail and was charged with aggravated assault. Roswell police stated that this was an isolated domestic incident. (newsbreak.com)
