  2. A partnership between the Roswell Rotary and the Wellstar Foundation is producing a podcast series called “Roswell Teen Talk.” This five-episode limited series launched on October 11. The show will feature Roswell teenagers in a peer-to-peer format and will tackle an array of topics related to behavioral health and suicide prevention. The podcast will also offer information to the North Fulton community when, where and how to get help. Students from Roswell High School and Fellowship Christian School will share their experiences and opinions. They will be guided by experts from the Wellstar Health System to make sure the resources that are relayed are "accurate, relevant and actionable." This diverse group of students will represent all grade levels. $57,000 was invested by Roswell Rotary and Wellstar North Fulton to develop “Roswell Teen Talk.” (appenmedia.com)
  3. The $550 million redevelopment plan for North Point Mall was rejected by Alpharetta City Council at Monday's meeting in a 4-2 vote. Residents who were in attendance at the meeting seemed to have favored the proposed live, work, play space. The developer of the project, Trademark Property Company, wanted to remodel and redevelop 83 of 100 acres of the mall's property and bring in new retail, restaurants, residential living and office space. Alpharetta City Council was opposed to the project's plans and did not believe Trademark would successfully carry out its design plans. They shared concerns of the possibility that the site would become a wasteland. Alpharetta Councilmen Bruce Will and Donald Mitchell were the only two who voted in favor of the project. The Mayor of Alpharetta, Jim Glivin and councilmembers Jason Binder, Doug DeRito and Dan Merkel were opposed to the proposal.(Paywall: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
