Selected Items from the January 24, 2022 Meeting
- Reading of a Proclamation for the "Esteemed Veteran of Roswell" Award to Mr. Roger Wise, Jr.
This Proclamation celebrates Mr. Wise's service to our great community of Roswell, to his fellow soldiers in service, and to our Country. - Reading of a Proclamation for Black History Month.
Roswell will celebrate Black History Month with its annual "Roswell Roots" festival, including exhibits and events, both in-person and virtual, that are focused on the culture of Black History and culture, including art, storytelling, music, education, literature, and the contributions of Roswell's African American citizens.

Mayor Pro Tem Mike Palermo presented a list of action items on behalf of Mayor Wilson. Mayor and Council pledge to address these items within 100 days:- An action plan to finish the Oxbo Road realignment project.
- Activate the River Master Plan.
- Hire an Economic Development Director.
- Create a City Master Plan, including an Arts Plan.
- Begin a full financial review of the City’s budget.
- Implement a new resident-friendly "People's Calendar."
- Create a Police Payment Plan.
- Create a Transportation Commission.
- Recognition of the City of Roswell for the renewal of the Bicycle Friendly Community Award given by The League of American Bicyclists.
The City of Roswell has been recognized by the League of American Bicyclists with a Bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Community award. Roswell was the first municipality in the state of Georgia to earn this distinction in 2006, and the City has successfully continued its status for 15 consecutive years. This distinction shows that Roswell maintains its place as a leader in bicycle-oriented activities and infrastructure. - Approval for the Mayor and/or City Administrator to sign a contract with Prime Contractors, Inc. for renovations of the Cultural Arts Center second floor in preparation of the Roswell Historical Society’s expansion in the amount of $148,459.
Action: Approved unanimously (as part of the Consent Agenda)
The City approved $148,459 to renovate and expand the space in the Cultural Arts Center's second floor for the Roswell Historical Society. The renovation includes installation of new flooring, lighting, and ceiling tiles, as well as the replacement of entrance doors and painting. - Approval of the Fiscal Year 2022 Mid-Year Budget Amendment.
Action: Approved unanimously
The mid-year budget amendment primarily included items deferred during the annual budget process. Among the items included in the mid-year amendment are public safety equipment and parks improvements and repairs. For more information about the FY2022 budget, visit www.roswellgov.com/Budget.
