Preceding the start of the open public comment period, Captain James J. Guzzetti was recognized as an Esteemed Veteran of Roswell. Mayor Kurt Wilson issued a proclamation celebrating Captain Guzzetti's service to our community and to our Country.

Captain Guzzetti retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service in 2016. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal (two awards), two Battle "E" Awards, and numerous other unit citations and campaign medals.
"Tonight, I consider this such an honor and privilege to be recognized by this Mayor and City Council, whom I have a tremendous amount of respect for. I would also like to thank each and every one of them for their incredible service to our community and city on an ongoing basis. It cannot be stated enough," said Captain Guzzetti. "I am truly humbled by this recognition and am very proud to be a veteran of our great Nation, so again thank you Mayor and Council for such a distinguished honor."
