Here are the top three stories today in Roswell:
- Family Promise of North Fulton/DeKalb was welcomed to Roswell by North Fulton community members at a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Grove Way Community Center. The ceremonial event took place on November 9. This group assists families who are experiencing homelessness by aiding with providing resources, transitional housing and other forms of support. It has also serviced over 1,000 people in 2021 with its Emergency Response Program. Family Promise uses business partnerships and help from local churches to help house families. After using a donated space in a Dunwoody church basement, the organization has finally found a permanent home. (appenmedia.com)
- City Council has voted for a $123,150 contract with MTechProMedia for video production services. The production group will shoot and edit video podcasts, talk shows and cinematic videos for Roswell government services, projects, and events. The work may involve writing scripts, making storyboards, location scouting, finding talent, etc. The city evaluated 19 proposals for the contract. MTechProMedia received the highest scoring proposal for the contract. ( Paywall: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
- The Roswell Police Department is not only filled with those who are dedicated in service to our city, there are many in the department who have served the country as well. The Roswell PD took special time off Friday, November 11 to honor the veterans who served our country and those who serve in the department. Members of the department are military veterans who served in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, the Army National Guard, Coast Guard, the Army Reserve and in the Navy Reserve. This Veteran's Day, the Roswell Police Department thanked and honored these veterans who continued to commit their life to service and duty. (facebook.com)
