  1. The US Department of Justice released a statement that gives an update of the case of a fentanyl dealer from Roswell who sold the deadly drug to multiple people and who caused the overdose death of a buyer. Hubert Nathans was sentenced to federal prison for the sale of fake Roxicodone pills that also contained fentanyl between 2017 and 2018. Edward Culton, who was Nathan's drug dealer, also received a sentence to federal prison earlier in the year. U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan said that “their greed resulted in the tragic death of one person and the near-death of another." Hubert Nathans of Roswell received a 12-year prison sentence, which is to be followed by 15 years of supervised release. Edward Culton, was sentenced to 18 years and three months in prison. His prison sentence will be followed by five years of supervised release. (justice.gov)
  2. North Fulton Community Charities is ardently preparing for Giving Tuesday on November 29. The organization wants to break records with their goal to raise enough money to be able to help stabilize 100 families with food, housing assistance and education. This nonprofit group uses individual case management to provide financial and utility assistance, as well as education and workforce development for adults who use their services. It also offers a food pantry, clothing and seasonal assistance to families in need. It is asking for the community's help to meet this goal. (Paywall: ajc.com)
  3. Qualifying for the 8th U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball has began. This amateur golf tournament will be held from May 13 through May 17, 2023 at the Home Course in DuPont, Washington. There are 26 sites across the nation that are hosting local qualifiers for this event. A local group from Roswell is one of these hosts. The Country Club of Roswell are hosting Thanana Kotchasanmanee, Ella Manley, Emerson Blair, and Sophie Linder. The United States Golf Association (USGA) accepted 366 entries, which is a total of 732 players. Sixty-four teams will compete in this upcoming golf competition in DuPont, Washington.   • City of Roswell, Georgia: Early voting for the December 6 run-off election will begin on Saturday, November 26. You will be able to vote early until Friday, December 2.
