Former North Fulton Teacher Met Underage Girl On Tinder: Cops
Preston Paris, a former Chattahoochee High School social studies teacher and coach, is charged with child molestation.

ROSWELL, GA — Bond has been denied for the former Chattahoochee High School teacher charged with child molestation in connection to an encounter with an underage girl he came in contact with using a dating app. Preston Paris waived his first appearance and was denied bond Tuesday at the Fulton County Jail, said Sheriff's Office spokesperson Tracy Flanagan.
Flanagan said the defendant's next court date is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 16 in Courtroom 1D at the Fulton County Courthouse. Paris, of Marietta, is charged with child molestation, statutory rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes, the Roswell Police Department said.
The alleged victim in this case, Roswell police spokesperson Lisa Holland said, is a 13-year-old female. Holland said the girl was not a student of Paris, but met the former educator on Tinder, a dating app.

Roswell detectives worked with Fulton County School Police officers to take Paris "into custody as quickly as possible" after learning of the incident, the department said.
Fulton County Schools spokesperson Cierra Boyd said Paris, who taught social studies for two years with FCS, is no longer employed with the system.
"Given the allegations he was immediately separated from our district," she added.
Holland said Roswell police are using this incident to remind parents to be vigilant and check their children's cell phones periodically, and "have conversations with their children about not meeting strangers online."
Roswell police ask that additional victims to contact the police department at (770) 640-4100.
