Here are the top three stories in Roswell today:
- The Computer Museum of America features the history and achievements of technology. Artifacts from age-old computers, electronic devices, and technological marvels are from the collection of Lonnie Mimms, a real estate developer. He has spent almost half a century collecting almost every kind of computer. This tremendous collection makes up the 35,000 square feet building that is the Computer Museum of America. The evolution of computers and their impact on life and history are translated and explored through these exhibits. Mimms says “we really want to be the Smithsonian for technology.” The museum is a wonderful addition to Roswell and hosts many events like "Byte: A Night of Cuisine, Cocktails and Computers." This nonprofit fundraiser will be held on this Thursday. (newsbreak.com)
- Roswell's culinary scene is continuing to make waves and be the talk throughout Atlanta. Casa Robles Tapas & Tacos opened in downtown Roswell last year. The premier chef, Laura Orellana, is a native of El Salvador and received her training in Spain. The menu honors both countries. The Fox 5 team came out to Roswell to experience the cuisine for themselves. Casa Robles Tapas & Tacos is located on Oak Street in Roswell. (fox5atlanta.com)
- Roswell's Central EMS is expanding its service territory within the state. The ambulance provider recently won a contract to service the Richmond County ambulance zone. This will be the first time in 15 years that the City of Augusta will work with a new ambulance company. Central EMS won the county's favor over two other companies. Central EMS has yet to provide a quote the City of Augusta as to how much it wants in a subsidy. (wjbf.com)
