Georgia First Lady Visits Roswell Woman's Club
The group presented the Child Development Association with a $2,000 donation at Wednesday's luncheon.
Thanks to Nydia Tisdale for sending along this story on Wednesday's very special Roswell Woman's Club luncheon and the accompanying photos and video:
First Lady of Georgia, Sandra Deal discussed her “Read Across Georgia” initiative, and commended both the Childhood Development Association and Roswell Woman’s Club on each organization’s work in supporting literacy in Georgia.
After Mrs. Deal’s message, the RWC presented a check to Donna Symthe, Executive Director of the Child Development Association.
RWC has given over $1.8 million in the form of grants and scholarships to local nonprofit organizations, students, and teacher grants. The Club has been active in the Roswell community for 65 years and has an annual fundraiser to raise money for the North Fulton Community.
All profits from the Club’s fundraiser is disbursed through grants and scholarships each year. The RWC is known for presenting Showcase Home Tours and plans to present our 17th Showcase Home Tour next year. Last year’s very successful fund-raising event, CHAIRity Event, was a one-year break from our tradition.
