Here are the top five stories today in Roswell:

1. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties recently made a big announcement. Lori Lane is now the president of Georgia Properties’ New Homes Division and executive strategist, Luxury Collection and Global Living. Lane has been a leader in the company since 2006. Her new homes division has been highly successful. Roswell will help Berkshire Hathaway congratulate Lori Lane on this prestigious accomplishment. (finance.yahoo.com)
2. North Point Community Church is hosting a free digital conferences for local parents. Five nationally recognized parenting experts will shed light on helping the next generation of youth navigate technology, anxiety, depression and despair. They will also give parenting tips on how to do so. Classes will be this weekend and throughout next week. (appenmedia.com)
3. The final approval for the tax break for the $92 million project redeveloping the historic Bailey Johnson School came on July 19 by the The Alpharetta Development Authority. The site will be converted into an office complex. Development Authority Chairman Jack Nugent noted that the property tax income would be a boon for Alpharetta’s tax base, even if tax payments start at just half of their full value. They also voted to extend the City of Alpharetta’s local job tax credit. (appenmedia.com)
4. The Roswell Historical Society is in partnership with The Georgia Trust to help save and preserve the Hembree Farm. The farm is now for sale and listed for $125,000. The historic Hembree Farmhouse in Roswell is the latest property to be listed. The rehabilitation of the site can be achieved through the historical society's Revolving Fund (Roswell Historical Society via Facebook)

• Friends of the Roswell Library: The FOTRL is reminding you reasons and benefits to being an active reader. Reading is of course a stimulation for development and can even be life saving! Check out more pros to reading from your Friends of the Roswell Library (facebook.com)
• Free Pilates in the Park: A free fitness class will be offered at Riverside park and is open to the public. This weekend will be Pilates. This event is contingent upon the weather. (roswellgov.com)
• Open Hearth Cooking Tutorial: An open-hearth cooking class will be presented this Sunday at the Archibald Smith Plantation Home. The class will be taught by Clarissa Clifton who is a living history interpreter. She will be showcasing traditional 19th century southern recipes. (facebook.com)
