Here are the top four stories today in Roswell:
- The 10th annual Irish Fest will come to Downtown Roswell this year. This two day event will feature traditional Irish bands, dance, food, activities, lectures and an Irish céilÃ. Some events, such as an Irish Tea session with the Consul General of Ireland, Atlanta will be ticketed. This will be the 10th year that the festival will be held in Historic Roswell. This unique event will truly honor and highlight traditional Irish heritage. Irish Fest will be held on November 4 and November 5. (Press Release Desk)
- The incoming members of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce's Leadership North Fulton Class of 2023 were announced. For over 30 years, Leadership North Fulton has been one of the region’s top leadership development programs. Twenty-nine members are a part of the 2023 graduating class, and many of the members are city officials, members of the local school systems and business leaders. Several graduates of this program represent the city of Roswell as community and business leaders and government officials. (appenmedia.com)
- On Sunday, October 23 the City of Roswell will bring an event to the city that honors the importance and culture of Native Americans in the Southeast U.S. at Riverside Park. The city's Historic Assets Division worked with Jim and Cody Sawgrass who are decedents of the Creek Nation. They will display Native American culture, artifacts and perform a traditional Native American Hoop Dance. The history and culture of the Creek and Cherokee people who lived along the Chattahoochee River will be showcased at this special and unique event. (roswellgov.com)
- The Roswell Fire Department battled a commercial structure fire on Friday, October 7. Firefighters responded to reports of smoke and fire coming from a building's roofline. Crews of firefighters searched possible occupants and worked to control the fire. The Roswell Fire Department Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the fire. There were no injuries reported and one cat was rescued from the premises. (facebook.com)

- Roswell High School Football: Players of the Week from the Lassiter Game on October 7 were announced. Offense was awarded to Nykahi Davenport, Defense was awarded to Devin Redmond, Special Teams was awarded to Jackson Schall, and the Hornet of the week was warded to Carter Blair. - Nextdoor Neighbor, Houze: Renata Nall is the owner of a skincare and weight loss studio in Roswell and has been operating for the past 19 years in the city. She also fosters and rescues animals. She has now opened a pet sitting and house sitting business called Poof N Woof. She is excited to continue to serve the community with her new business. (Nextdoor)
- City of Roswell Government: The Roswell Woman's Club hosted the bond referendum info meeting at East Roswell Park on Thursday morning. Voters were given more details and information on the bond referendums that will be on the ballot on November 8. - Roswell High School: The Roswell High's Foreign Language department has partnered with Lycée Claude Gellée in Epinal, France to provide a foreign pen pal exchange program. French students from Roswell High School went to France for a week to meet their pen pals. They were able to learn about French and Swiss cultures. (Roswell High School via Twitter)
