  1. The Roswell Fire Department is seeking a candidate to fill the role of Fire and Life Safety Plans Examiner. Among the many requirements, the job description details the review of civil engineering drawings, architectural plans, fire protection system drawings, fire main drawings and written documents. This position also requires a collaboration between the Deputy Fire Marshal and Fire Marshal to develop and implement policies and procedures for code enforcement and prevention. (facebook.com)
  2. The superintendent of Fulton County Schools, Dr. Mike Looney outlined changes that are being implemented for the 2022-2023 school year. Looney stated that “students will no longer be allowed to use their cell phones in class without the teacher explicitly giving permission.” The goal is to help students focus better by cutting down on distractions. This new rule will apply to all Fulton County schools when classes begin on August 8. (wsbtv.com)
  3. The City of Alpharetta approved the plans for a new hybrid luxury dog park and restaurant in downtown Alpharetta. The venue will be called Off Leash and will offer an extravagant indoor and outdoor dog park. This 2.3 acre space in downtown Alpharetta will also have a full service restaurant. (appenmedia.com)

  • Centennial High School PTSA: Open House at Centennial HS is this week. Freshmen orientation was held on Wednesday August 3. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors' orientation will be conducted throughout various times on Thursday ,August 4. Open House checklists are available online or onsite.   • Reels and Wheels Series: The Reels and Wheels event is an updated combination of Roswell's Food Truck Fridays and Movies in the Park. There will be a movie on the big screen and food trucks for the perfect movie snacks. Reels and Wheels will be held at both Riverside and East Roswell parks this Friday and select Fridays through September. (roswellgov.com)
  • The City of Roswell: The Resurfacing and Rejuvenation Program has begun in Roswell. This week crews began work at Long Leaf Drive and Farm Track. The city has reminded residents that schedules and completion of work can change depending on weather conditions, staffing or other unforeseen events. (twitter.com)
