Here are the top three stories today in Roswell:
- The mayors of fifteen cities in North Fulton and a Fulton County Commissioner took part in the multi-city Town Hall meeting on September 21. The meeting was held at Roswell City Hall. Negotiations between the cities of North Fulton and the County regarding the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) will continue. Since an agreement has yet to be reached, the parties will begin mediation today in reference to the allocation of a projected $3 billion in LOST revenues for a 10-year period. At the meeting, the mayors stressed that our cities will be negatively affected if there is a significant change from the current distribution of the LOST tax. This change may cause some cities to raise millage rates or cut services to residents. (reporternewspapers.net)
- The Roswell Police Department will be raising money for Special Olympics Georgia. They will be accepting donations from the community at two local Roswell Dunkin’ locations. They are asking that Roswell will come out the morning of September 29 to join the Roswell PD at the 775 Holcomb Bridge Rd. and 1590 Holcomb Bridge Rd. locations and donate. They are accepting online donations as well. (The Roswell Police Department via Facebook)
