Here are the top three stories today in Roswell:
- The North Fulton Master Gardeners will celebrate its 22nd annual Garden Faire on Saturday, April 29. North Fulton Master Gardeners, Inc. aims to teach residents of North Fulton about horticulture and ecology. The event will be held in Alpharetta this year at the The Grove at Wills Park and begins at 9:00 AM. Plants that were grown from Master Gardeners will be on sale. The Garden Faire will also feature a “vintage fleatique” market, a children's corner and a vendor market for items for the garden. Proceeds from this faire will benefit community gardening education in North Fulton and fund demonstration gardens that are maintained by Master Gardeners and scholarships for those studying horticulture. The North Fulton Master Gardeners also has a 2023 gardening lecture series that begins this month. (appenmedia.com)
- The spring high school lacrosse sports season is in full swing and one of the biggest games of division occurred last week. Roswell High School vied against Lambert High School in the Hornets Nest. Roswell took an early lead with Hill Plunkett, a senior and Army West Point signee scored six goals and junior Ezra Moore scored four goals. The Hornets won the game with a final score of 13-6. This historic game marks the first time that Roswell has defeated Lambert since 2015. This games gives the Roswell lacrosse team a 6-0 record for this season and brings them to the top ranks of the 5A/6A division. (lacrossebucket.com)
- A report of mail theft from a Roswell resident has been made. A neighbor on Pattingham Drive reported that an $88 check was taken from his mailbox. The Roswell man told police that he placed the check in his mailbox and put up the red flag for the mail to be collected by the postman. He soon noticed that the flag had been set back down. Upon reviewing footage from this security camera, he noticed a dark blue Nissan drive past his home, turn around, stop the car by the mailbox, roll down the window, then took the check. No one exited the car, but the video footage did show that the person who took the check was wearing a light grey long sleeve shirt. The theft victim has frozen his bank account. The Roswell Police Department is still investigating. (appenmedia.com)
