Here are the top four stories in Roswell today:

  1. The Northern Ridge Boy Scout District presented its newest Eagle Scout members. This district is comprised of troops from Roswell, Alpharetta, John’s Creek and Milton. These new Eagle Scouts completed the Eagle Board of Review in May 2022 at Alpharetta Presbyterian Church. North Fulton congratulates these scouts for this accomplishment.(appenmedia.com)
  2. The Roswell Police Department continues Inservice Week training. The second day of training consisted of use-of-force, de-escalation and police legitimacy tactics and skills. Officers also used practical situations in a simulator training module that tests an officer's judgment and decision-making under stress. The department also completed trainings on handcuffing, safe control techniques and recertified on tasers and taser use. (facebook.com)
  3. Fulton County Schools is proposing a redistricting agenda in both North and South Fulton counties. County officials named 46 schools in North Fulton that could be “potentially impacted” by redistricting. Due to attendance capacity imbalances in elementary schools and the opening of a new Crabapple Middle School in Roswell, neighborhoods in Roswell may be affected. Fulton County Schools will hold two online meetings to discuss these options. The meetings are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday and will explain the redistricting process. The county will vote on this redistricting proposal in December. (Paywall: The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  4. Two people were shot in an early morning shooting at a Johns Creek neighborhood on Tuesday. Police responded to a 911 call from the residence in which gunshots could be heard during the 911 call. Police entered the residence and found two victims, one deceased and one was injured. A third person who was at the home is in police custody. John's Creek PD have not released a connection between the shooter and the victims or a possible motive for the crimes. (newsbreak.com)
