Tarr is a native of South Florida, and recently graduated from the University of Georgia. While working on her journalism major, Tarr worked for the local UGA newspaper, "The Red & Black," and at the student-run news station Grady Newsource. She states, “To me, journalism has always been about the stories of people and community. - A Rowell native is one of the star players on The University of Georgia men's tennis team who competed in the final edition of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division I fall rankings. Blake Croyder is from Roswell and was one of the five athletes featured in the singles and doubles rankings. The men's tennis team won four championships over three events. Blake Croyder won the singles championships at the ITA Southeast Regional and he also won the doubles title with his partner, Britton Johnston at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships. - The Foundation Social Eatery was once a go-to establishment in the Roswell fine-dining scene. Chef Mel Toledo closed the restaurant on December 31, 2020 after the lease on the building ended. Chef Toledo, his wife Sandy, and his operating partner Nick Hassiotis, have now reopened the eatery in neighboring Alpharetta. "The restaurant already had a clientele in Roswell, so we felt staying nearby was good for business." says co-owner Nick Hassiotis. They are set to reopen the first week of December, and they will follow with an adjacent Parisian-style café named Petite FSE, that is slated to open in January. (Atlanta Magazine)
- The LifeLine Animal Project will host free pet adoptions from November 25 through November 28. There are approximately 3,000 pets in shelters and foster care in the Metro area. Nearly 1,300 animals in these counties are in foster care alone. Pets that are to be adopted will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. LifeLine Animal Project is a nonprofit that manages animal services for overcrowded shelters in Fulton and Dekalb counties. Public Relations Director Timyka Artist says that adoptions have decreased this year. Their foster program will allow people who are interested, a trial period for adoption of a cat or dog.
