Here are the top three stories today in Roswell:

  1. Last year Major Caplan and Sergeant Armour from the Roswell Police Department met Charlie Scott through the Second Wind Dreams nonprofit organization. The police department shared a link that details Scott's background from a Korean War Veteran to working with the Secret Service under President Reagan. As a former NYPD Detective, Scott formed a common bond with Major Caplan and Sergeant Armour. The three soon became great friends. The trio meet often to share memories. During their recent visit, the officers brought Scott a Roswell PD patrol cap. Charlie Scott wears the hat with pride. (facebook.com)
  2. An abandoned vehicle was found near the wood line just north of the GA-400 Mansell Road on-ramp on December 15. Alpharetta Police stated that the grey pickup truck was parked in the woods off the expressway and there was no driver in the vehicle. It was discovered that the truck was reported stolen by the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office. Police removed the vehicle from the scene. A suspect for the theft was not noted in the report.(appenmedia.com)
  3. A Roswell woman, (mentioned in the accompanying video) Sydney Campbell, returned home from Christmas vacation to find that last weekend's freezing temperatures had burst pipes in her home. Much of the water, however, had drained by the time she returned home. The damage had already been done; much of her ceiling had collapsed onto the floor. "Anything that the water touched is pretty much gone” said Campbell. The water marks on the wall provided evidence that the water had reached levels of at least three inches high. Her apartment should be repaired next month per the unit's management company. (wsbtv.com)
