Here are the top stories today in Roswell:
- Talks are still in continuation regarding the proposed Georgia 400 Express Lanes. This project will build 16 miles of toll lanes that will be elevated above the current main travel lanes on GA 400. The express lanes will also include their own dedicated exits. One of the new interchanges will be between the Chattahoochee River and Holcomb Bridge Road exit. Residents in the area are not happy due to the fact that the agreement between the city of Rowell and GDOT to place the new interchanges occurred in 2019. Roswell residents expressed that the former mayor made this agreement without obtaining opinions from the community. (wsbtv.com)
- A Roswell man was arrested in Dunwoody after trying to leave the scene of a traffic stop. He appeared to be asleep at a traffic light, but quickly tried to flee once officers initiated the traffic stop. He was soon stopped and arrested for numerous charges including driving while unlicensed, improper stopping and attempting to elude law enforcement. No one was reported to be injured during this event. (appenmedia.com)
- A paving project in Roswell will begin due to a $5 million loan granted through the Georgia Transportation Infrastructure Bank (GTIB). Several areas throughout the city will be repaved and resurfaced at one time. The city's goal is to resurface about 83 roads this year. This project will be contingent upon weather, staffing and other variables and scheduling may change. (roswellgov.com)
- A man visiting the area from Statesboro reported to police that his car was stolen after parking it on N. Point Parkway. He left the car parked overnight in a lot. After returning the next morning, he found his car missing. After checking with local tow services to no avail, he then contacted police who have yet to locate his vehicle. (appenmedia.com)
