- Sergeant Frederic Miller Reese, Jr., received his recognition as an Esteemed Veteran of Roswell at the City Council meeting on November 28. He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves in 1970, and after completing basic training, he soon earned the rank of Private First Class. After extensive service in the reserves, Sgt. Reese was Honorably Discharged by the US Marine Corps in 1976. He was awarded the Military Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He received his official proclamation from the Mayor and the City Council. (facebook.com)
- The unanimous approval action of the three bond referendums was made by the Roswell City Council on Monday, November 28. These three referendums were voted for by residents in November's special election. Although there was pushback from some residents, Mayor Wilson said that "the bonds had overwhelming support from the public." Close to $180 million for parks, public safety and downtown parking will be funded by the bonds. (appenmedia.com)
- The holidays are here and there will be plenty of visits from old St. Nick. The Roswell PD and the Friends of the Roswell Police are presenting "Pictures with Santa, Part II: The Sequel." Their first meet-and-greet and photo session with Santa filled up very quickly. The department has offered this second opportunity for the community to get their photos with Santa. This "part-two" session will take place at the Roswell Police Department on Sunday, December 11. You must sign-up for this event, as there are limited spots availability. (facebook.com)
