Roswell Residents Oppose Mayor's City Charter Plan

Roswell Mayor Kurt Wilson wants to change the city's charter plan, which would give him direct authority over city departments.

ROSWELL, GA — Some Roswell residents are against changes to the city charter, which would give the mayor direct authority over city departments, reported the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

Those opposed have said that it would give Mayor Kurt Wilson too much power, reported the AJC. On Monday City Council delayed voting on a resolution for the changes until Tuesday’s administration meeting, according to the City.

The in-person meeting will be livestreamed at 5 p.m. on the City’s website, Facebook page, and YouTube. For links to the livestream options, visit www.roswellgov.com/MeetingVideo. Full agenda materials for all public meetings can be found at www.roswellgov.com/MeetingPortal.
