- Atlanta Street Baptist Church has moved to Woodstock as the former church site is part of proposed plans for a mixed-use project. Polara Capital is currently looking to rezone the Atlanta Street Baptist Church property for residential mixed-use and conditional use. GDOT also has plans to use a portion of the land a portion of its land for the Historic Gateway Project. This project will widen Atlanta Street into four lanes. Roswell City Council is due to deliberate on rezoning of the church property during their August 8 meeting. (paywall: ajc.com)
- An Alpharetta mother has spoken out to warn parents and caregivers about the possibilities and dangers of toddlers climbing into hot cars. The mother of three is using her own family's experience with this situation to raise awareness and to educate. She notes that although it's rare, more instances of toddlers climbing into empty hot cars does happen. She highlights her work with Kids and Car Safety to bring awareness to the community. - Members and volunteers with the Marietta/Roswell chapter of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby traveled to Washington, D.C. to speak with elected officials regarding their role in being more active to address climate change. They spoke with Representative Carolyn Bourdeaux and Representative Rick Allen about climate policy and to develop climate legislation. (appenmedia.com)

- Roswell Police Department: The Roswell PD is reminding residents that school is starting on Monday August 8. This means that buses will be on the roads again along with increased traffic. They also remind residents to adhere to the flashing lights and stop signs on buses when at school bus stops. (Roswell Police Department via Facebook)
- North Fulton Crime Blotter: An Alpharetta man was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting at the Target on GA Hwy 9. He was confronted and detained by the store's Loss Prevention Dept. until police arrived. He attempted steal apparel, electronics and health and beauty items. (appenmedia.com)
- Fulton County Board of Health: The Board of Health is highlighting their Tobacco Quit Line. Fulton County residents who are looking for help to stop smoking have a free resource. The helpline offers free personalized counseling for quitting tobacco use. (nextdoor.com)
- Friday Yoga: Every 1st and 3rd Friday, the Roswell Library will host a free afternoon yoga class for residents. Come loosen up and de-stress with yoga specialist Michael. This class is sponsored by the Friends of Roswell Library. (fulcolibrary.bibliocommons.com)
- Spelljammer Academy for Gamers: Today gamers are invited to get a preview of Spelljammer before the official release on August 16. This session will develop into a Friday night Spelljammer campaign that will start in September. This will be held at Caffeinated Gamers in Roswell. (eventbrite.com)
