  1. The Roswell 2023 Community Calendar is here! The City of Roswell made next year's calendar in-house. The calendar is free and is available for pick-up at the information desk at City Hall. Some Roswell recreation facilities will also have copies of the calendar beginning the first week of January. The theme for 2023's calendar is a tribute to the Roswell Fire Department. Features of the calendar includes the lifesaving equipment the department uses and Roswell's new Ladder Truck #21. Limited quantities of the calendars are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. (City of Roswell, Georgia via Instagram)
  2. A popular Roswell hot-spot, sports bar, taqueria, and destination music venue is expanding and opening another location in Cumming. Rock 'N' Taco's co-owner, Brad Hancock, announced in a press release this week that they will be opening the second location in the Cumming City Center. The restaurant's brand was built around the belief in “cover bands, not cover charges.” This new location will embody the same essence and design as the founding Roswell location, will seat 200 patrons, and will have a rooftop bar. 3. Roswell and Johns Creek police officials are coming together to enact a new policy of what they call 21st Century Policing. This policy's focus is to take specific and specialized steps to get to know the people in their communities of whom they protect and serve. The U.S. Department of Justice introduced this policy in 2015 and encompasses tenants of building trust and legitimacy; policy and oversight; technology and social media; community policing and crime reduction; training and education; and officer wellness. The Justice Department calls these components pillars, and these pillars are to be utilized and combined to reduce crime and build trust with the public. Roswell Police Chief James Conroy and Johns Creek Police Chief Mark Mitchell say that their hope is to create a positive "culture with accountability", in which the benefits of such an environment will flow into the communities they serve. Other food for the feast was catered by Wegman's Bayou Louisiana Kitchen and South 40 Smokehouse. (The Roswell Police Department via Facebook)
  • City of Roswell, Georgia: Due to the Arctic air mass that moved into the southeast overnight, City Hall, Rec Centers, rec programs, and the Recycling Center closed today, December 23. Roswell Emergency services will continue to be open and responsive. The city will resume business on Tuesday, December 27. (City of Roswell, Georgia via Instagram)
