Roswell Approves New Etris Road Development
A 27-home neighborhood will go in, not far from Edenwilde.

It was a unamimous vote at the Roswell City Council Monday evening which approved a proposal to put 27 new homes in on Etris Road.
The council had initially denied Edward Andrews Homes' proposal for 38 single family homes on the 16 acre Etris Road property last summer. Neighbors claimed the development was not consistent with the surrounding area. But instead of denying the request completely, city council rezoned the property to an R-1 zoning classification, with the addition of 16 conditions for EAH developers.
, but also went to work - meeting with neighbors and finding an alternate solution. The proposal for 27 homes came with 29 self-imposed conditions. One of those conditions included the requirement for each new home to be a minimum of 2,600 square feet.

City council was able to get behind the new proposal, with minor adjustments to several conditions. The biggest sticking point was whether the new neighborhood should have public access to a potentially paved Kent Road in the future. In the end, council stuck with the condition that only an emergency break-away gate is needed on Kent Road for now.
