Here are the top stories today in Roswell:
- Keep Roswell Beautiful and the City of Roswell will co-host the annual Rivers Alive event. This is Georgia's waterway cleanup project that occurs each year to preserve the state's 70,100 miles of rivers and streams. The goal is to help maintain the Chattahoochee River and its tributaries that flow through and around the city of Roswell. Roswell has been apart of the Rivers Alive campaign for the past 31 years. This years clean-up sites are Riverside Park, Waller Park, Don White Memorial Park, Seven Branches, sections of Big Creek, Foe Killer Creek, Hog Waller Creek, and other areas. Registration for volunteers will open on August 12. (roswellgov.com)
- A Roswell woman has reported to police that a Galaxy S22 cell phone and a box of safety masks were stolen from her car while she was visiting the Alpharetta Library. She also noticed a car parked behind her that was taking pictures of her vehicle. However, she was not able to provide a description of the person or the car to Roswell PD. The phone taken was valued at $1,000. (appenmedia.com)
- The Post 1 Roswell City Council seat has four qualified candidates. This is the seat that vacated by Marcelo Zapata in June. Sarah Beeson, Allen Sells, Mulham Shbeib, and Jason Miller are running for the open seat.
