  1. The Roswell Fire Department celebrated the retirement of Capt. Barrett after 25 years with the department. He began his career as a volunteer firefighter with the City of Roswell in 1997. Captain Barrett received his fire officer credentials from the Center of Public Safety Excellence. Barrett is continuing his firefighting career by serving as a fire captain at Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.   2. A 33-year old Alpharetta man was killed after falling from Yonah Mountain in White County, Georgia. The White County Sheriff’s Office was notified after receiving reports that a hiker had fallen from the “top/rock face side of the mountain.” Foul play is not suspected in this incident. This tragic event is the fourth reported death that has occurred at Yonah Mountain in the past two years. (newsbreak.com)
  3. There will be scheduled system maintenance preformed by the City of Roswell on Saturday, October 22 through Monday, October 24. Online and telephone payment systems will be inaccessible from 11:00 PM on October 22 through 7:00 AM on October 23, and from 11:00 PM on October 23 through 7:00 AM on October 24. Services such as property tax payments, utility billing payments, online employment applications, and business license payments will be affected. Payments that are already set-up through auto-pay will not be affected by the system maintenance. (roswellgov.com)

  • Roswell Police Department: The Roswell PD and Roswell FD will host a Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 28 at City Hall. This is a family-friendly event with plenty of candy, cars, candy, music, and games. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. (Roswell Police Department via Facebook)
  • Roswell Arts Fund: If you're having an arts-related event, and want to get the word out to the city, the Roswell Arts Fund has a community calendar just for you. There is no cost to post an event on the calendar. (Roswell Arts Fund via Twitter)
  • Visit Roswell: Ruby Velle & the Soulphonics will preform at the final Riverside Sounds of the year. is an R&B soul band that has been voted the best R&B Soul Band in Atlanta six different times. One of their albums was also voted Best Album by Atlanta Magazine in 2018. Beer, wine, food, and sangria will be available for purchase at Riverside Sounds and will be located at Riverside Park.   • Nextdoor Neighbor, Wexford: A Georgia Festival of Trees Luncheon will be hosted by the North Metro Women's Connection on November 9. The luncheon will be at the Atlanta National Golf Club in Milton. There will also be a soloist and a guest speaker. Tickets are on sale for this event. (Nextdoor)
  • Roswell Police Department: The most recent class of Roswell's Citizens' Police Acedmy has graduated. The group graduated on October 18 after a tournament to test their knowledge on the Roswell Police Department.
