Roswell Firelabs Soft Opening On Nov. 10
Roswell Firelabs, a community makerspace, is located in the former Roswell fire station at 1601 Holcomb Bridge Road.
ROSWELL, GA — An initiative to bring the first community makerspace to Roswell will soon become a reality, as the organizers behind Roswell Firelabs will hold a soft opening and ribbon cutting for its space on Saturday, Nov. 10.
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., residents can explore the space at 1601 Holcomb Bridge Road. Organizers will have demonstrations, tours of the space, kids’ crafts, raffles, refreshments and merchandise.
The space is in a former fire station for the city of Roswell. City Council members in January directed staff members to move forward with working with Roswell Firelabs in transforming the station to fit its needs.

"Our name reflects the combination of the building’s history as well as its current purpose as a learning laboratory," Roswell Firelabs said in its newsletter.
The company describes a makerspace as a place where adults and children can come together for "making, learning, exploring and sharing." Its space will provide a variety of equipment for adults and kids alike to build their passion projects, as well as critical 21st century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
