Here are the top stories today in Roswell:
- The city of Roswell, Georgia Government, Cultural Affairs, Roswell Recreation, Parks, and Historic Society has been nominated for the "Best of North Fulton" award. Roswell residents are encouraged to vote for our city between July 15 - Aug. 15. One of the events in Roswell that was nominated is "Alive in Roswell" that is celebrated from April through October. - Caregivers, providers and anyone interested in dementia are invited to attend a free virtual dementia tour on Friday. The event is hosted by Second Wind Dreams in Roswell. This is to raise awareness and to educate about dementia. Attendees will learn how dementia effects the brain and how to care for those with dementia. (twitter.com)
- Tutors are needed at the STAR House in Roswell. The STAR House is a nonprofit that provides an after school program for at-risk youth throughout North Fulton. The STAR House noted that "9,000 students in North Fulton are not meeting third grade reading standards." They are especially seeking bilingual tutors. (paywall:www.ajc.com)

- Keep Roswell Beautiful: Annually, Keep Roswell Beautiful Board Members conduct a Community Appearance Index throughout the city as part of the Keep America Beautiful program. This year, Roswell scored a 1.5 (scale of 1 - 4) which was a .10 decrease from last year. Therefore Roswell is noted as a minimally littered community. That's great news! - The Transportation Advisory Commission regular meeting takes place at City Hall this evening. Among topics to be discussed will be the Historic Gateway Transportation Project and Grimes Bridge Road express lanes. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in room 220.(roswellcityga.iqm2.com)
