Roswell Partners With Cobb To Replace Willeo Creek Bridge

The city and county have entered into a joint agreement to replace the bridge, which spans both jurisdictions.

ROSWELL, GA — The city of Roswell will join forces with Cobb County on a project to replace the Willeo Creek bridge. The City Council at its Sept. 10 meeting approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Cobb County Board of Commissioners for the project along Willeo Road near its intersection with Timber Ridge and Lower Roswell roads.

The bridge over Willeo Creek is on the Roswell-Cobb County border and spans both jurisdictions. Since both entities recognize the need to get the project done, Cobb and Roswell have both embarked on a joint project to accomplish the replacement.

According to the agreement, Roswell and Cobb will responsible for the right-of-way acquisition costs in their respective boundaries. They will evenly split the engineering, permitting, utility relocation and construction costs for the project.

According to the city, the estimated cost for the replacement is $2.6 million. Roswell will be solely responsible for the costs related to design and construction of the boardwalk.
