Roswell Police Rescue 67-Year-Old Kidnapping Victim

Four masked people took the victim into a black van at gunpoint, police said.

ROSWELL, GA -- Roswell Police rescued a 67-year-old woman Wednesday night who was kidnapped at gun point and forced into the back of a black van, police said in a press release.

At around 10 p.m., four masked people held her at gun point after she left a business at 270 East Crossville Road, police said, and they forced her into the back of a black van.

When police showed up on the scene, the van fled the scene but crashed into a tree on Holcomb Bridge Road, police said. One of the suspected kidnappers -- Juan Knight, 28, -- was taken into custody, while the other three escaped, police said.

The woman was rescued from the van and taken to a hospital with injuries that weren't life-threatening, according to police.

Knight is charged with robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault. He will be transported to the Fulton County Jail.

Police say they are still looking for the other suspects and are using an Atlanta Police helicopter to help with the search. The van was reported stolen in Cobb County, police said.
