Roswell Officers Shoot Man Accused Of Trying To Stab MARTA Driver: PD
Police located the suspect, who was accused of being armed with an "edged weapon," and shot him after they say he charged at them.
ROSWELL, GA — Authorities are investigating Tuesday a police shooting that injured a man accused of trying to stab a MARTA bus driver, Roswell Police said shortly after 3 p.m.
The shooting happened near the 10000 block of Alpharetta Highway. Police said no officers were injured in the shooting.
The man, with an "edged weapon," fled after attempting to stab the MARTA driver, police said. When officers found the man in the area, police said the man charged at officers with the weapon.

At least one officer then shot at the man, hitting him, police said. The man was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition, police said.
Police said Alpharetta Highway will be closed between Houze Way and Mansell Road for the next several hours. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to independently investigate into the shooting, police said.
