Rotary to Debut Tennis Tourney at Golf Fundraiser

Hagan Cup Classic will enhance largest 100 percent volunteer fundraiser in the state.

Tennis anyone? The Roswell Rotary says so.

The service club plans to debut a new tennis tournament simultaneously with its annual golf fundraiser. The fundraiser, in its 35th year, is known to be the largest 100-percent volunteer fundraiser in Georgia and will boost its revenue by adding tennis.

The Hagan Cup Classic, named after local philanthropist Bob Hagan, will be held in a Round Robin format the day of the golf tourney on Sept. 9 at Country Club of Roswell.

The tournament draws some 500 players, volunteers and businesses professionals from North Fulton.

“The addition of the tennis tournament is a natural progression for us as we are nearing capacity for our golf fundraiser; it also gives an opportunity for those not interested in playing golf to participate in the best charity event for the North Fulton community,” said tournament chairman Theo Keyserling in a press release.

The golf event annually raises more than $170,000 for North Fulton charities.

The event includes an after party and awards reception featuring a casino, dinner, drinks by Roswell local Vixen Vodka, dancing, and a live and silent auction.

“Our after party is the most possible fun you can have for a good cause on a Monday Night," Keyserling said, “It is an open event and anyone can come to the after party regardless of tournament participation.”
