Roswell Shooting Injures Man; Accused Gunman Charged
Police said the Barrington Drive shooting was the result of an escalating altercation between a group of people.
ROSWELL, GA — A 23-year-old man is facing charges after Roswell Police said Saturday an altercation between a group of people led to gunfire.
Police said officers responded around 9 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of Barrington Drive East, where the shooting occurred. All of the people involved left the scene before police arrived; however, police said a 22-year-old man was taken to a hospital with a non-threatening gunshot wound in his arm.
Police said someone had driven the man to Barrington, where the man approached Derrick Washington in a driveway. Washington was accused of taking out a handgun and shooting at the man several times, hitting him once in the arm.

The driver then shot back, but police said no one was injured from these shots.
Washington was charged on suspicion of aggravated assault and taken to the Fulton County Jail, police said.
