📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Roswell who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.

I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our readers to local businesses they need to know. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.

Here are the top three stories in Roswell today:

  1. The new Roswell365 website officially went live on Wednesday, April 19. Although it's similar to the City of Roswell's website, the 365 site will only focus on all events and activities in the city. The website will include not only events that are sponsored and put on by the city, but will also list those held by civic groups, local businesses, non-profits and from anyone who is organizing an event for the community. In regards to this new website, Mayor Wilson said that “Everyone wins — the community knows what’s happening in our city and organizations have a place to call home for listing their events.” There is no cost to register and create an account at the new Roswell365 site. 2. Beginning on Memorial Day, the City of Roswell will close Canton Street to vehicular traffic. The city's desire is to make the popular street more friendly to pedestrians and families. The mayor stated that “One of our dreams is to re-imagine it like, for example, to have really a promenade long-term down Canton Street, like you would in Barcelona.” However, there are mixed feelings about the idea among business owners along Canton Street. Jenna Aronowitz, the owner of 1920Tavern, believes that the bond-approved parking deck should be built first. The closure on Canton would be between Webb Street and Elizabeth Street and is planned to last until Labor Day. (WSB Radio)
  3. Roswell Police responded to a suspicious vehicle call at the Flying Biscuit Café on April 14. While investigating the vehicle, officers discovered that the registered owner had multiple arrest warrants. A woman who was an employee at the restaurant peeked out of the eatery at the investigation, but tried to retreat when officers noticed her. She was followed by police and was found to have had drugs inside her garments in which she admitted was meth. Police also found a $100 in cash that was found to be missing from the register. Security footage showed the woman stealing from the safe earlier that day. She was fired, arrested and transported to the Fulton County Jail. (appenmedia.com)

The mayor gave the team some words of encouragement and support as they head to the Final 4 State Soccer Playoffs. This next playoff game will be held at Centennial High School this evening at 7:30 PM. Come out to the "fortress" today to show your support to the Knights. • City of Roswell, Georgia: The city is reminding residents not to blow their grass clippings, leaves, debris, and/or yard waste into the city's streets. This debris will build up and will subsequently clog storm drains. These actions will also make the roads more hazardous. The city is asking that residents collect their yard waste into paper bags or bundles, and to place them on the curb for collection. (City of Roswell, Georgia via Instagram)
  • Roswell Inc: Roswell Inc welcomed another new business to the city this week. Canton Wealth Partners is a firm that focuses on helping people create lasting retirement strategies.
