Here are the top three stories in Roswell today:
- The City of Roswell met with several local nonprofit organizations on October 4 at East Roswell Park. The non-profits are apart of Roswell's Nonprofit Partnership Program (NPP), which is directed by the City of Roswell's Grants Division. This program aids local nonprofits in the community via networking opportunities, updates for the community, and opportunities for partnerships through forums, seminars, and communications that are sponsored by the city. The meeting was to discuss the upcoming #GivingTuesday community campaign. (facebook.com)
- Improvements to East Roswell Park costing $3 million were approved by the Roswell City Council. This is a capital improvements project that is included in Roswell's Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs 5-Year Master Plan and an ADA assessment of East Roswell Park. They will begin work on the park's infrastructure that will include the repairs and/or replacement of storm water, drainage systems, asphalt, concrete, and sewers. After the infrastructure improvements are completed, the city will then begin the replacement of synthetic fields, the rebuilding of tennis courts, renovations to the trails, and the replacement of light poles. Several other areas of the park will receive upgrades as well. Some of the work has already begun, and is expected to be completed in 12 to 18 months. (thegeorgiasun.com)
- Scheduled system maintenance will be conducted Friday by the City of Roswell. Online services for the city will be unavailable from 6:00 AM and 12:00 PM on October 7. Online payment systems for utility billing, property taxes, vendor self-services, and online employment applications will be offline. Telephone payment services will be inaccessible as well. Any payments that are already established through bank auto-pay will not be affected by the system maintenance that will be performed. (roswellgov.com)
