Here are the top three stories today in Roswell:

  1. Families who live near Porter Academy in Roswell have growing concerns over the dangerous traffic situation that has developed at the school's entrance. The Porter Academy is a private school that educates children with a range of developmental needs. The school is located on Cox Road near Arnold Mill Road and is on the border of the cities of Roswell and Milton. The speed limit is 40 miles per hour in front of the school, and there have been three accidents at the school's entrance in recent years. The assistant principal of the Porter Academy, Barbara Richard, has asked both Roswell PD and Milton PD for improvements with safety in the area. (CBS 46 News)
  2. The Roswell PD has reported that three catalytic converters have been stolen off work trucks from a local business in Roswell within the last week. The theft of catalytic converters is common as these components are made up of precious metals that have a high resale value. According to police, a skilled thief can take a catalytic converter in less than 60 seconds. The Roswell PD alerted residents to be diligent and to say something if you see something. Police also gave tips on how to protect your vehicle from theft. (facebook.com)
  3. A vehicle was found abandoned on GA-400 N in Alpharetta near the Kimball Bridge Road overpass. It appeared to be wrecked. The car was damaged on the passenger side bumper, tire, axle and both airbags had been deployed. Upon further investigation of the scene, police found that the guardrail near the Exit 10 sign for Old Milton Road was damaged as well. There was no driver or passenger found near the area at the time of the investigation. (appenmedia.com)
