- An announcement came from the Governor on Thursday that SK Battery America is opening a regional IT hub facility right here in Roswell. SK Battery America manufactures batteries, and already has two lithium-ion battery manufacturing facilities in Jackson County, Georgia. These lithium-ion batteries are used to power electric vehicles such as the Ford F-150 Lightning and the Volkswagen ID.4. The Roswell IT center will be a management center that serves the South Korean company's manufacturing facilities in the U.S. They are looking to hire IT professionals for system development and operations. They are also in need of data analysts. The facility is located at 1110 Sanctuary Pkwy. in Roswell. (newnanceo.com)
- The GameStop store on Mansell Road was robbed on January 19. The armed thieves stole $3,898 of products and cash from the store. The employee who was working at the time told police that two men came into the shop and robbed him at gunpoint. The assailants were wearing face masks. The employee was ordered to fill their bag with cash from the register. They also took eight PlayStation 5 controllers and several PlayStation 5 consoles. The Roswell Police Department is investigating and looking for suspects. (appenmedia.com)
- The Roswell Recycling Center accepts old electronics in which they recycle. Items such as computers, monitors, printers, telephones, speakers and TV's can be brought to the center. Recycling electronics is encouraged as the decomposition of the materials and elements that make up many electronic items, damage human health and the environment. Best Buy is also an alternative to recycle electronics, especially for non-Roswell residents. The Computer Museum of America conducts an electronic recycling drive twice a year. (roswellgov.com)
