A long football season at Centennial took a heartbreaking turn Friday when the Knights barely missed a chance to post a winning record in Region 6-AAAAAA play.
Centennial was defeated by Lambert by a 24-23 score, falling to 1-5 on the season and 1-2 in the region.
The Knights, whose only win this season has come against winless Johns Creek, will play South Forsyth next week.
Roswell, which is 3-3, was off on Friday, and will play Woodstock next week.
Fellowship Christian was in a close battle with The Walker School of Marietta on Friday, but lost 25-20.
The Paladins, who are 4-2 overall and 1-1 in Region 6B-A, play Mt. Paran Christian next week.
