Here are the top three stories today in Roswell
- East Roswell Park will be receiving some enhancements after the City Council agreed to a five-year park master plan of improvements. The master plan was created to provide a extensive review of the city’s parks and gives recommendations for implementation over the next five year period. $2.53 million was approved for the East Roswell Park improvements for the fiscal year 2023. These improvements are in response to the community's request to upgrade existing facilities, preserve the natural environment, and to connect the community through trails and sidewalks by using the bike and pedestrian paths. The plan includes the development of a skate park, disc golf course, pickleball courts and neighborhood parks. The city will first replace major infrastructure like storm water and drainage systems at East Roswell Park before any new developments are built. (appenmedia.com)
- The 3rd Annual Roswell Motoring Festival is coming Saturday at Roswell City Hall. 150 classic cars from various places in the South will be on display. This event will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Car owners can still register their cars in the festival through Saturday morning. There will also be a parade that will highlight the vehicles. One of the premier showpieces will be a 1924 Flathead Ford Roadster V8. There will also be modern vehicles like a 2022 Ferrari SF90 Stradale Fiorano, which is said to be the fastest model of Ferrari ever built. The parade will leave City Hall at 9:45 AM and the festival will begin at 10:00 AM. (Paywall: ajc.com)
- The Consulate General of Mexico has partnered with the City of Roswell to bring the community the Dia de los Muertos Festival. The free festival showcases Aztec dancers, a mariachi band, and altar to present offerings to honor the dead. There will be a costume contest in which cash prizes can be won. Tickets can also be purchased to participate in a margarita tasting. The festival will be held at Roswell City Hall. (atlantanewsfirst.com)
