Here are the top stories today in Roswell:

1. The Veteran's Day Breakfast will be served at the Bill Johnson Community Activity Building at the Roswell Area Park. This free special breakfast, provided by the Flying Biscuit in Roswell, will be held to honor military veterans and their families on November 11. Please register in advance to attend the breakfast. After the breakfast, the observance of Veteran's Day will continue with a Honor Walk to the Roswell Area Park Pond. The walk is open to whomever would like to attend, and golf carts will be available for those who need assistance with transportation. There will also be a momentous ceremony at the pond. Registration is not required to participate in the Honor Walk. (roswellgov.com)

2. According to the AJC, the four candidates who campaigned and hope to be voted in today to to fill the vacant seat on Roswell City Council, say wise economic development would be their top priority if elected. Sarah Beeson, Jason Miller, Mulham Shbeib and Allen Sells are vying for the vacated Post 1 seat. The candidates shared their plans to Mayor Kurt Wilson and the City Council. The candidate's goals are to attract more development to Roswell. They all agree that development is essential to Roswell's ability to compete with neighboring cities. 3. The 15 Fulton County cities have reached a preliminary agreement with the county regarding the distribution of the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST). The county has agreed to reduce its initial demand of an increase of 35% annually. “Working together, the cities of Fulton County were able to ensure that our residents received a proportional share of the local option sales tax,” Mayor Kurt Wilson said. Funds from the Local Option Sales Tax are used to offset the cost of essential governmental services. (facebook.com)

  • City of Roswell, Georgia: The newest featured Roswell Nonprofit Partner is The Roswell Historical Society. The Historical Society was founded in 1971. This group collects ,preserves, shares, and promotes the history Roswell, Georgia. They have recently announced the opening of their first public museum space: The Roswell History Museum.   • City of Roswell, Georgia Government: A regularly scheduled Mayor & City Council Meeting will be held at East Roswell Park on November 14. This meeting will be livestreamed on the City of Roswell's Facebook and YouTube pages. (City of Roswell Government via Twitter)
