Here are the top four stories in Roswell today:

  1. The City of Roswell signed a $48,397 contract with Brown & Caldwell to perform a study on the current water rate. The intention of this study is to review the cost of service of water utility for the city. This study will also propose a new water rate structure that will ensure the utility's financial sustainability, build a reserve of funds, be equal and fair for all customers, and to allow funding for capital projects. The city's increasing operating expenses combined with the need for capital improvements, are the reasons noted by the City of Roswell for an updated rate study. The last water rate study was contracted to and performed by Cybergov Consultants in 2008. There were however, additional rate reviews that were completed in 2014 and 2019. 2. The Atlanta Dance Theatre, in partnership with the Roswell Cultural Arts Department, will bring the magic of the holidays with their production of the Christmas classic, "The Nutcracker." This fantastic ballet will was choreographed by the Atlanta Dance Theatre's Artistic Director, Shelley Grames. The star dancers, Joanne Feldman and Paul Milliken, are highly proclaimed. Come along with Clara on her adventures with the enchanted Nutcracker Prince. The show will run from Friday, December 9 until Sunday, December 11 at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. 3. A local civil engineering firm will be receiving some extra help from a current student at Kennesaw State University. Keoni McKeever is a senior and civil engineering major, and is one of the university's Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship recipients. This scholarship gives funds and services to students who have a financial need and are of the first generation in their families to attend college. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter. This membership in this chapter allowed McKeever receive an internship at Civilogistix, a Roswell-based civil engineering company. (kennesaw.edu)
  4. The Roswell Rotary Club continues to do good and help others in the community. The club donated umbrellas to the 5th graders at Fellowship Christian School. Due to renovations at the school, the 5th grade class has been temporarily displaced to an outside building with no covered walkway. A member of the rotary club, David Wash, is also a parent of a student at the Christian school. Wash, along the the Roswell Rotary Club donated several golf umbrellas to the 5th grade class. With the many rainy days that we have in Roswell, this kind act was graciously received and appreciated by the students and staff at Fellowship Christian School. (www.facebook.com)
