  1. On January 14, a Roswell woman reported to the police department that she was being extorted by text message with sexually explicit pictures. An unknown person sent her texts with photos that were of her in the nude. Unless she sent the person money, they threatened to send the photos to her family and friends. She verified with police, that she did take the pictures, but she insisted that she didn't share them with anyone. The woman, and her guardian turned her phone into the Roswell Police Department to be forensically analyzed. The woman's guardian did not press charges at this time. (appenmedia.com)
  2. The Roswell Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program has received special recognition from the GBI. The affiliate detectives with the ICAC have been honored for handling the most “traveler case investigations" in 2022. These are cases and/or inquiries involve the solicitation minors with a telecommunication device. These cases can also include transportation of at least one person who is looking to engage in sexual activities and behaviors with a minor. These dedicated detectives have also been named as the Georgia ICAC Taskforce 2022 Affiliate of the Year. (facebook.com)
  3. The 75th anniversary jubilee for the American Legion Post 201 was held at the Carl Black dealership in Roswell. The grand affair took place on January 21 and included a cake-cutting to help commemorate this historical event.
