Woman Sexually Assaulted Near Roswell Trail: Police

A person of interest has been speaking with detectives, but no charges or arrests have been announced in the case.

ROSWELL, GA — A 19-year-old woman was sexually assaulted Tuesday morning in the woods south of the Riverwalk Trail, near Riverside and Dogwood roads, Roswell Police said Tuesday.

A person of interest has been speaking with detectives, but police said the investigation is in its preliminary stages. No charges or arrests have been announced in the case.

Officers responded around 8 a.m. to Riverwalk Trail, where they say the woman reported walking on the paved path when she was approached from behind by an unknown man.

The woman told police the man was wearing dark clothing and a surgical mask. She said the man claimed to have a gun and forced her into the woods to sexually assault her, police said.
