  2. Ethan Nation, a Roswell High School student and football star, participated in practice sessions for the Under Armour All-American teams at Disney’s Wide World of Sports this past weekend. As the country’s 18th-best cornerback and 169th best overall player, Nation showcased great speed and cover skills during practice. Several universities are vying for his commitment to their academic and football program. Nation said that he has narrowed his choices to Nebraska, Ohio State, Auburn, Colorado and Houston. He is to make is decision at 2023 Under Armour All-American Game. “I just wanted to find a school that was all in for me,” Nation said. 3. There are still businesses and residences that are dealing with the aftermath from the frigid artic temperatures that hit Georgia over the Christmas holiday weekend. Roswell Fire Public Information Officer Chad Miller stated that he was astonished when he realized that numerous residents didn’t know to turn off the main water line to their home to help remedy frozen pipes. Some of the methods some residents used to unfreeze their pipes were quite dangerous. The Roswell FD reported that a residential structure fire began after the occupant attempted to heat a frozen exterior pipe over a direct flame. The act accidentally caught the house on fire. Officer Chad Miller hopes that residents will "take fire safety measures in the future" to help decrease the need for emergency fire responses. The department's received and responded to 142 calls on Christmas day alone. (appenmedia.com)
