Here are the top three stories in Savannah today:

  1. The Savannah Police Department is searching for a missing 15-year-old girl. Brenda Munoz has been missing since Thursday night from Middleground Road. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact the department immediately. (WSAV-TV)
  2. The Water Lantern Festival is scheduled for today at Lake Mayer. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. Lantern designing will begin at 6:30 p.m. The launch into the lake will occur at 8:00 p.m. Participants are encouraged to write messages of hope on the lanterns.   3. A Savannah school was placed on lockdown after a call was made to the Savannah 911 call center. Campus officers and the Savannah Police Department responded to Mercer Middle School after an allegation that a weapon was on campus was made. Nothing was found through the investigation, and the lockdown was lifted. (WJCL)
