Jesse E. Coombs, son of Joe and Diana Coombs of Snellville, receives a commendation and his first set of "Gold Bars" during his commissioning ceremony at North Georgia College and University.
Lt. Col. Dave Gordon, retired, president of the Georgia Mountain Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America, proudly presented him with the award and bars prior to his commissioning as a second lieutenant on December 10.
