Gwinnett County Kwanzaa 2025 - Celebrating Kujichagulia: Self-Determination

Event Details
Join us for the Gwinnett County Kwanzaa 2025 - Celebrating Kujichagulia: Self-Determination.
Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration of Black American culture that takes place during the holiday season from December 26 to January 1 of each year.
Kwanzaa celebrates Black American history, values, family, and community. It's based on African harvest festival traditions and the philosophy of Kawaida, which defines culture as a key component in people's development.
Gwinnett County Kwanzaa 2025 - Celebrating Kujichagulia: Self-Determination is a family-friendly event, so bring the entire family and your friends.
- Kujichagulia: The second day of Kwanzaa -- December 27 -- is dedicated to the principle of kujichagulia, which means "self-determination". The day is a call for Black Americans to define their own culture, identity, and values, rather than being defined by others.
The event features a Kwanzaa program, guest speakers, fun activities, Black books giveaway, Black culture games, prizes, and networking. We are going to love up on each other while building Black unity and power with a 2026 strategic plan!
Our Kwanzaa Karamu sample dishes are provided by Moses-Ragsdale Kitchen and Camrose Creative Services -- prepared with a lot of love! Vegan and non-pork options.
This event is presented by the Gwinnett County Black Chamber of Commerce, Black Gwinnett Magazine and the Urban Mediamakers.
