Grayson Technical Education Program Registration Deadline Approaching

From Gwinnett County Public Schools: 

Parents interested in having their children attend a Gwinnett County Public Schools charter school next school year should pay special attention to some key dates this winter. The registration windows for the Grayson Technical Education Program, in addition to the district’s four charter schools, soon will close.

Grayson Tech, a career-focused special program house at Grayson High, begins registration this week for the 2014-2015 school year. For more information on the school, attend the open house Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. or visit www.graysontech.org. The school is located at 50 Hope Hollow Road in Loganville. 

Other non-traditional public schools in Gwinnett County with registration and open dates are: 

• Gwinnett Online Campus (GOC) - GCPS’ diploma-granting, virtual charter school - will host informational meetings at the school’s campus on Jan. 23, Feb. 10, and Feb. 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for students in grades 4-12 interested in attending. In addition, webinar sessions will be available on Jan. 28 and Feb. 17 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Registration for full-time students will be open from Feb. 1 through Feb. 28, 2014.
• Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST), the district’s STEM-focused charter high school, will hold the final informational meeting for interested 8th graders on Jan. 14, 2014, at 7 p.m. The registration deadline for rising 9th graders is Jan. 31, 2014. If more registrations are received than available seats, the school will hold a public lottery February 10, 2014.
• Maxwell High School of Technology begins online registration this week. An open house is scheduled for Feb. 13, 2014. Maxwell High School of Technology is GCPS’ technical/career-focused charter high school. Students attend classes at both Maxwell High and their local GCPS school.
• New Life Academy of Excellence will enroll new Kindergartners this week, Jan 13-17, 2014. For more information, parents should call 678-720-9870 or visit newlifeacagemyga.com.
