Grenade Scare Shuts Down Rosedale Road, Clairmont Circle
A couple found two possible hand grenades while cleaning out their friend's Snellville-area house.

Authorities had to block off Rosedale Road and Clairmont Circle afterΒ two possibleΒ handΒ grenades were foundΒ in a vacant Snellville-area home last week.
According to the Gwinnett County Police report, a Loganville woman and her husbandΒ discovered the explosives while theyΒ were cleaning out a house off Rosedale Road. The home belonged to a friend who had recently passed away and loved to collect guns, ammunition and other weapons.Β
After findingΒ the grenades in a box in one of the bedrooms, the wife said she didn't believe they were real until she pickedΒ them up. After noticing a weight difference, she told her husband and they called authorities.
After assessing the grenades, the hazardous device unit concluded that one was inert and the other was a training grenade. They were removed from the scene.
